NC Big Sweep this Saturday @9am

Please join Carrboro's NC Big Sweep for our first community service project this year.

Scouts and their families will meet Carrboro Parks and Recreation staff at the Century Center (100 N. Greensboro St., Carrboro) at 9am Saturday October 12, 2013.  Scouts and families will be assigned a staff person and area for cleanup and we will head out around 9:30 for clean-up of trash and recycling in areas around the Bolin Creek watershed. Everyone will head back to the Century Center for lunch that will be provided to all volunteers.  Efforts will be acknowledged through T-shirt giveaways, certificates, older kids can earn service learning hours.

This event is not recommended for very young children.  If possible please dress your scout in his class B T-shirt. Remember to bring water, bug spray, suntan lotion and appropriate shoes. Parks & Rec. will have all the tools, garbage bags etc. needed for the event.  Our group will not be meeting in any particular location for the event so please just look for other scouts from our pack.

Fill out the parent permission form for any kids under 14 and bring to the event.  Drop an e-mail to coordinator Julie Collins if you plan to go. If you have specific questions please contact Julie Collins directly at 919-918-7392 or pack coordinator Lisa Ostrom at 919-923-7042.
